![]() ![]() The reason I have correct in quotes is because unless you are willing to sit down with PCSX2 and mod Persona 3, every single version of the game is compromised in some way. The FemC route is seen as the best version of Persona 3 and also cuts out some of the transphobia found in the male route, which is not removed in the male route for P3P. P3P is kinda the "correct" answer to port, especially since it is using Persona 4's framework. I do think it is the better version, but for the majority of people that could somehow find value in P4, who knows? Probably the version that lets the MC bang the greatest number of tropey anime characters is the best for the current fanbase. ![]() I'll just replay FES on the PS2 game though, as I also don't care about remasters or graphics that much. I never had any problems getting the AI companions to follow the orders either, after figuring out how they work.and I enjoyed the fatigue mechanic. My earlier playthroughs of FES cemented Minato in my mind as male, I guess. I also liked the answer, for what it was.and have no interest in romance social links, nor the female protagonist. Then again, I like p1 and the two p2 games and dislike p4 and p5 so my opinions are probably outliers. P3P felt way too much like a visual novel for my tastes. I get that the environments aren't amazing or anything, but they really provide a sense of the narrative being grounded in a physical world. I could not tolerate P3P, having played FES on US release and again a few years after. ![]() To the point it’s almost a bummer to me they didn’t do something similar for 4 and 5.īut on the other hand, if they just ported FES over, I’d have no interest in playing it, and that would be one less game to try to play in a loaded 2023 lol. On one hand, I love that it’ll be a good excuse to replay that game, and I feel the FeMC is one of the more interesting things they’ve done for a ‘second version’ of these games, with the change affecting social links and NPC dialog (from what I recall to more or a degree than you typically see in games that offer a gender choice). Overall, I’m kind in two minds of them bringing over P3P. That being said, if they chose to update the graphical fidelity to be more in line with say P5, then I think that would be interesting. So I’d take the visual novel style with the quick/fast travel options over free roaming those environments any day of the week. I suppose it’s in line with what I expect out of PS2 era style graphics, but just wasn’t very appealing to me. I remember playing a bit of FES in 2010 or so and felt a lot of the graphics for the real world environments just felt rather ‘bland’ to me. I feel the free roam stuff in the PS2 versions never really appealed to me. ![]()
